Santa Rosa Bipolar Family Support GroupThe Santa Rosa Bipolar Family Support Group is a weekly, ongoing group for family members and friends struggling to understand and help a loved one with Bipolar Disorder. Bipolar Disorder is different for every person who has it. It is extremely difficult to understand, even for the person with the diagnosis, and even harder for others to understand. This can lead to feelings of helplessness, fear, worry, guilt, and frustration and anger. You may alternate between blaming yourself, and blaming them. Neither is helpful. Dealing with a loved one who has Bipolar Disorder may lead to sleepless nights, lots of drama, fighting, yelling, confusion, hurt feelings, and desperation. Often loved one's experience tremendous stress, burn-out, psychosomatic problems like headaches and back-aches, anxiety, panic and depression. This group provides a safe, healing environment where you can receive emotional support, reduce stress, get clear education and understanding about Bipolar Disorder, ideas regarding resources in the community, and ideas about different approaches to treatment and self-care - both medical and non-traditional. This group respects all responsible approaches to treatment, and all cultural differences. Call for more information, dates and times.
