Anxiety Issues caused by past bullying

Hi, I am a 17 year old girl who currently attends high school/ college. A year ago I went through a huge fight with my best friend at the time where she humiliated me in front of the entire school and I was bullied as a result. We never made up and a while later she left for another school. During the fight I was able to keep in a relatively good headspace, but I have noticed a drastic change in myself since then. I dont go out anymore. whenever I need to go to places where I know my ex-bestfriend and her friends could be my anxiety levels go through the roof. I know that this is silly and irrational considering that she is not even that aggressive to me when she sees me (she just glares at me) and the bullying stopped a while ago. I am asking for help because I know that this problem is holding me back from things I want to and need to do.

Ben's Response:

It is not silly at all to have persisting axiety after an experience like this, and I have seen many people go on for many years suffering from this type of trauma. The good news is that most people can completely resolve a trauma like this, usually in a very short time, using EFT. Unless you have a long history of trauma (what you might call complex trauma), a single traumatic event is usually the easiest thing to resolve with Tapping. Bullying is deeply painful, and every year there are many suicides as a result of it. It is no small thing.

Let me know if I can be of any further help.

Take Care,
Ben Schwarcz
