Healing From The Inside OutChoosing Love Over Fear...Mindfulness is the path to peaceEverything we touch, eat, listen to, inhale, read, watch and dwell in, has some effect on our mind-body ecosystem. It is wise to be mindful of where we choose to put ourselves, who we spend time with, and how we move through the world. Even our communication - the words we use - our body language - all have consequences for our state of mind, our mood, our health, our outlook, beliefs and degree of peace in our lives.Being mindful of where to put your attention is not paranoia, but rather a way of choosing the kind of reality you wish to live in. The world we live in is literally a dumping ground and a 24/7 commercial in which we are unwittingly bombarded with chemical toxins, fearful news, explicit sexual images, and desire-creating advertising that creates craving, inadequacy and demand where there would otherwise be none. Remember that what you focus on increases. So choose wisely what you focus on. In this fantastic dream world where every flavor of sense-candy exists, our subtle inner self can become quickly buried under the distracting pollution of our minds and bodies. Fear, speed, adrenaline, toys, fashion... all lead to the same place: burnout, despair, loss, old age, sickness and death. It takes a purposeful intentional choice to live a life of inner truth, following a path of compassion and love, that will liberate rather than enslave and sicken us. Every moment and every thought is an opportunity to make a choice. Every mood we succumb to is, on some level, a choice. Our attitude is a choice. Saying no to a negative and destructive habit, impulse or self-loathing thought, and saying yes to a life-affirming, loving and self-accepting thought, image or feeling is an act of tremendous courage. It's not possible to be perfect. It's about compassionate self-awareness, rather than self-criticism, self-denial and rigid discipline. Negative thoughts and moods will come. And we can gently choose to focus on a different feeling. The only way to peace is inward. Nothing outside you can ever be a lasting source of happiness. All contentment and real joy exists in you, as your Self, beyond space, time and all external conditions. Always choose love over fear, breathe, and choose to be awake in THIS moment.

Don't Give Up!
Every life challenge is an opportunity to awaken. There is no situation that is hopeless. Something positive, healing and transformative is possible in all circumstances, even when we can't recognize it at the time. Sometimes we forge ourselves out of the fire of suffering and loss, and it isn't until the end that we realize what a beautiful work of art has emerged within. The glory of waking up can't be experienced if you don't first accept that you are asleep.
May we all find peace. May we all know joy. May we all be liberated from fear, and released from illusions. May we all return to the Truth of our inner Light.
