Spiritual Masters
Wisdom from the Sages, Gurus, and Saints

Spiritual Masters have been present on Earth, in every culture, and in every age, to guide humanity from delusion and illusion, to the light of Truth.

Depending on the tradition and time in which they lived, they may be called Sages, Saints, Mystics, Gurus, SatGurus, Masters, or Avatars. They each make a vital contribution to the evolution of consciousness and peace on earth.

A true Spiritual Master is more than a teacher. In the words of Yogiraj Siddhanath: "Teachers inform you, but a Master TRANSFORMS you!"

Some Spiritual Masters taught millions without barely uttering a single word. People would flock to them just to be in their presence because of the peace and bliss they experienced just being near their energy.

Other Masters convey their teachings both through their energy and presence, as well as through their words.

The more you look to these teachings, the more you will see that the fundamental Truths that they speak of are one and the same.

Consciousness is One.

These are some of my favorite and most beloved Spiritual Masters.

Yogiraj Satgurunath Siddhanath

Yogiraj is a Yogi of the Nath tradition and a Master of Kriya Yoga. For over 40 years, Yogiraj has healed and transformed millions all over the world with his transmissions of kundalini shakti energy. His own state of Samadhi (enlightened state of consciousness) can be experienced simply by being in his presence with an open and non-judgmental mind. Gurunath is a rare master in the manner of the ancient sages, who teaches and transforms his students through direct experience and not through words. Yogiraj has taught yoga and spirituality to world leaders and has given experiential discourse before the United Nations, yet he prefers nothing more than to sit in the simple pristine forests and mountains and meditate on God in tranquility.

Yogiraj has been my beloved Spiritual Master and Teacher since 1998. My reverence and gratitude for the blessings he has brought to my life, grows deeper with each passing year.

Hamsa Still

[The philosophy of enlightened action]

"Opal Hamsa of the mystic skies
From whose bosom doth thou rise?
Where to where do flight you take?
What fathomless Truth do you awake?

I have no birth nor death in time
Unborn awake I never sleep
Kundalini is the self-born Me
Moving creation from the deep !

My true self is the selfless Self
I came to be by Being!
Pulling the veil of Maya
By my will I am the Hamsa Still

Hamsa Eternal how may we
Being work-bound yet be ever free?
Enlightened action is the key
Which gives that final liberty!

Action from desires of the seeds
Of past or future thoughts
Creates a Karmic bondage which
Is ceaselessly with troubles fraught.

Enlightened action doth arise
Within your crystal conscious skies
Experience of the Hamsa Still
Makes one know Divinity's will."

-Yogiraj SatGurunath Siddhanath

"Healing The Apparent Self
Of The Ignorance Of
The True Self Is The Ultimate
Essence Of All Healing"

- Yogiraj SatGurunath Siddhanath

Shri Nisargatta Maharaj:

A Spiritual Master of incredible clarity and eloquence, from the Non-Dual (Advaita) tradition of India.

A simple man, Nisargadatta Maharaj, was a householder and petty shopkeeper in Bombay where he lived, and died in 1981 at the age of 84. He had not been educated formally, but came to be respected and loved for his insights into the crux of human pain and the extraordinary lucidity of his direct discourse. Hundreds of diverse seekers traveled the globe and sought him out in his unpretentious home to hear him. To all of them he gave hope that "beyond the real experience is not the mind, but the self, the light in which everything appears...the awareness in which everything happens.

"The search for Reality is the most dangerous of all undertakings, for it destroys the world in which you live."

Interview with Nisargatta:

M: Refuse all thoughts except one: the thought 'I am'. The mind will rebel in the beginning, but with patience and perseverance it will yield and keep quiet. Once you are quiet, things will begin to happen spontaneously and quite naturally without any interference on your part.

Q: Can I avoid this protracted battle with my mind?

M: Yes, you can. Just live your life as it comes, but alertly, watchfully, allowing everything to happen as it happens, doing the natural things the natural way, suffering, rejoicing -- as life brings. This also is a way.

Q: Well, then I can as well marry, have children, run a business… be happy.

M: Sure. You may or may not be happy, take it in your stride.

Q: Yet I want happiness.

M: True happiness cannot be found in things that change and pass away. Pleasure and pain alternate inexorably. Happiness comes from the self and can be found in the self only. Find your real self (swarupa) and all else will come with it.

Q: If my real self is peace and love, why is it so restless?

M: It is not your real being that is restless, but its reflection in the mind appears restless because the mind is restless. It is just like the reflection of the moon in the water stirred by the wind. The wind of desire stirs the mind and the 'me', which is but a reflection of the Self in the mind, appears changeful. But these ideas of movement, of restlessness, of pleasure and pain are all in the mind. The Self stands beyond the mind, aware, but unconcerned.

Q: How to reach it?

M: You are the Self, here and now Leave the mind alone, stand aware and unconcerned and you will realise that to stand alert but detached, watching events come and go, is an aspect of your real nature.
