personality disorder

by eden
(australia)

I know someone whom I would describe as controlling, manipulative, temperamental and verbally abusive. He is obsessed with having a plan for everything. Example, breakfast has to be at a specific time and everybody should be there. If the plan is not followed or altered in any way, he gets angry sometimes to the extent of banging the pan on the stove. He also dominates his wife especially and everyone in the household. What kind of person is this and does he have a tendency to violence?

Thanks

Ben's Answer:

It's impossible for me to say whether such a person has a tendency to violence. But a person who is controlling, domineering, verbally abusive, and easily angered definitely is much more likely to be physically violent than someone who lacks all those other qualities.

Sounds like he's got some Obsessive-Compulsive type traits as well as serious anger problems. He probably wouldn't be on my guest list for brunch.

Best Wishes,
