Ben's approach to psychotherapy

Transpersonal Psychotherapy - integrating Cognitive-Behavioral and Existential-Humanistic therapy. I emphasize present-moment awareness, utilizing the principles of mindfulness and yoga. I view health from a holistic perspective, and utilize a variety of approaches in therapy. The course of treatment is a collaborative process that is designed to suit your particular goals and needs.

What is Transpersonal Psychotherapy?

Transpersonal Psychotherapy holds the perspective that we are comprised of many levels of "reality" including the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual -- and that the spiritual identity or soul is the core or essential Self. The awareness of the Self can be known and experienced but not analyzed or quantified. When we discover and forgive the blocks to the awareness of the essential Self -- guilt, shame, trauma, unwanted anger, tension, fear - we begin the healing process and begin to experience true happiness and self-acceptance. Therapy helps us learn to embrace all parts of ourselves, ending the conflict and drama that keeps us in a state of suffering and despair.
